In the process of establishment, A Journey Home Animal Refuge is a new
shelter that is located on Riber Road in Hillsboro, Ohio. This is a new shelter in Highland County, and is a voluntary, non-profit
organization dedicated to the welfare of domestic animals and those who care for them in Highland county.
Since our organization is new to Highland County, we do currently have a shelter, but we hope to generate
enough funding to finish construction. The sooner we have our shelter done, the sooner we will be able to serve more animals
in Highland County.

A Journey Home Animal Refuge's mission is to provide shelter and care for homeless and unwanted animals during their
transition to their Forever Homes; to actively seek caring families to adopt our animals; to establish a spay and neuter program
for our refuge and the community; to educate the community on the importance of spaying and neutering to prevent unwanted
animals; to cultivate the positive treatment of all living creatures, and to assist the animal control department in our community.
